"Legend Rogaining" Returns with a Powerful Season Opener on March 21 in Ķīpsala

This year, the organizers have prepared an especially generous prize pool: season ranking winners in the 4-hour and 6-hour distances will compete for travel gift cards from "Intervals.lv" and "Impro" worth up to €1,000.

Rogaining is a team or solo orienteering discipline where participants plan their own routes to visit as many checkpoints as possible within a set time limit. It combines strategic thinking with physical endurance, making the competition engaging for both professionals and outdoor enthusiasts.

The first stage will take place on March 21 in Ķīpsala, offering participants a brand-new course. The race center will be located near the "Olimpia" shopping mall. The route will cover the industrial environment of the port, the Spilve meadows, and the vast expanses of Bolderāja, promising the most spectacular spring adventure on the streets of Riga.

What’s New This Season?

  • More Power: Teams can now consist of up to 5 participants.

  • Bigger Prizes: In addition to the impressive gift cards, leaders of the 2h SOLO stages will win new "Mizuno" footwear, while the overall winning teams across all distances will receive special bonus prizes.

  • New Heights: Throughout the season, participants will explore the grandeur of Rundāle Palace as well as undiscovered forest massifs across Latvia.

In this year’s "Legend Rogaining," we invite you not just to find checkpoints but to discover their unique surroundings. Scan the QR code on your map, answer questions about the locations you visit, and qualify for a special prize draw (entries close at 17:00). A Challenge for Everyone

Participants can choose the challenge that suits them best:

  • 2h or 4h running distances

  • 6h endurance test

  • 3h MTB (cycling) distance

  • Leisurely hiking distance
