At the end of May, 'Legend Rogaining' will take place in Ropaži for the first time.

 

Following a powerful season opener with 850 participants on March 21 in Ķīpsala, "Legend Rogaining" continues in Ropaži on the last Saturday of May, offering participants a brand-new terrain to explore. The race center will be located at Ropaži Secondary School, while the course will span the forests, marshes, and trails on both sides of the Lielā Jugla River. Participants will have the chance to traverse areas where historical layers still coexist with the nature and tranquility of the modern Ropaži surroundings.

Participants can choose the challenge that suits them best: 2h, 4h, or 6h distances for teams of 2–5 members, or a 2h solo rogaining option. For cycling enthusiasts, the traditional 3h MTBO distance is available. The youngest participants can join a guided kids' walk led by an experienced instructor to visit several checkpoints.

In rogaining, participants plan their own routes to visit as many checkpoints as possible within a set time limit to collect the most points. Rogaining emphasizes strategic thinking combined with physical endurance. This format of orienteering competition brings joy to both professionals and recreational enthusiasts alike.

This year, the organizers have prepared an especially generous prize pool: the season ranking winners of the 4-hour distance will compete for "Impro" travel gift cards worth up to €1,000. Additionally, stage leaders will win new "Mizuno" footwear, while overall team winners in all distances will receive special bonus prizes.
