3. GENERAL RULES

3.1. Rogaining is a competition where teams (and individuals in the MTB and rogaining run courses), navigating in the terrain, visit control points marked on the map in a self-selected order. Each control point has a different point value, and the aim is to collect as many points as possible within the time limit of the chosen course.
3.2. Participants move on foot only (in MTB courses – by bicycle), using the competition map issued by the organisers for navigation. The use of electronic navigation devices is only allowed in case of getting lost.
3.3. Traffic is not stopped during the rogaining. By taking part in the competition, participants are obliged to observe the Road Traffic Regulations of the Republic of Latvia, follow the instructions of the organisers and officials, and respect specially marked areas on the course and in the competition centre.
3.4. The organisers reserve the right to delay the start, change the course of the competition, hold teams on the course or stop the competition if this is related to dangerous weather conditions or other circumstances that pose a safety risk to the participants.
3.5. Within the framework of the competition it is allowed to include a company or organisation name or brand in the team name and to place stickers on equipment and participants’ clothing in accordance with these regulations. Any type of company or organisation advertising activity that has not been coordinated with the organisers, both during the competition and at related events, is prohibited. The penalty for non-compliance with this point is 2000 EUR. Advertising is allowed on participants’ clothing, shoes and competition equipment (backpacks, etc.).
3.6. The organisers reserve the right to change and amend these rules, procedures and requirements at any time before and during the competition.
