6 hour distance still will be a solid experience for people who have enjoyed rogaining previously. This will be a good warm-up experience preparing for classic rogaining distances. 6 hours is definitely enough time for team strategy make a significant impact on the result. RACE CENTER RACE MAP

Location of the Race Center: t/c Spice, Lielirbes street 29, Riga. The competition will be provided with toilets, storage rooms, dressrooms, registration, map distribution, medical assistance, awarding. Participants will be able to purchase Isostar energy drinks, gels and protein bars, as well as other things in the race supporters tents.

Participants receive the race map on the event morning at the registration tent. The maps will be moisture resistant, but each participant will be responsible for maintaining the map in humid conditions. The map scale is 1:20 000 or 1cm = 200m in nature. The map is prepared based on the topographical materials of the “Jāņa sēta Map Publishers” Ltd. There are made corrections in the map according to real situation at the place in nature.

 

WHAT TO DO IN DISTANCE

 

During the competition road traffic is not closed in Riga and all participants have an obligation to comply with the Road Traffic Regulations during the race, to be especially careful when crossing the streets, at traffic lights. When finding a checkpoint, all the team members should check in the point - wait for the SI station signal. To be counted as a collected Check Point, all team members must check in within one minute. After cut-off time, the visited checkpoints will not be counted. For each delayed minute after cut-off time, 1 point will be removed from the points scored. If the team will delay for more than 30 minutes, no points will be counted. At the finish, team is obliged to give back the SI cards and other rented equipment to the referee. The results for teams will be displayed electronically on the screen at the competition center, also available on the website, which can be viewed from mobile phones.

 

CHANGES IN TEAM APPLICATION MAP DISTRIBUTION PROCEDURE NEEDED EQUIPMENT

The captain of the team can change the members of the team by sending the information to organizers e-mail xrace@xrace.lv. The changes submitted until competition week will be made free of charge. All changes in team or distance made during competition week and including the race day will be charged 5 EUR. On the day of the competition, all changes can be made at the Registration and Info tent. Deleting a participant from a team or team refusal to participate is not an extra charge.

All team members must go to the Registration desk to recieve participant race numbers. Team members must tell the name of the team and sign the start protocol for receiving numbers. The captain of the team can not sign for other members. Race maps will be distributed together with team envelopes. The team envelope will include the race numbers, pins, SI cards (idents), wristbands for attaching the SI card around the hand, as well as various special offers from supporters. For teams that rents compasses or GPS, they will be issued together with envelopes.

We recommend you to choose warm, sporty clothes, gloves and comfortable shoes where you can walk around the city and the forest. For each team, the required equipment is a charged mobile phone with saved organizer telephone numbers that can be found on the race map. Recommended equipment in the distance for all teams are waterproof marker for writing, that can be used for planning a distance to indicate a team route, a compass with degree graduation, a ruler, a clock, energy food and a drink.
